Having designed the Children’s Garden at Naomi House, I was honoured to be asked to design the new Memory Garden for both Naomi House and the young adult’s hospice, Jack’s Place. A new site was chosen which could be accessed at any time by families without the need to go through the hospices. However, this site was at the top of a bank and quite exposed.

Therefore, I used fencing to create a private, quiet and tranquil space for families to remember their loved ones. Two seating areas were created, one with shelter from the weather in a summerhouse and the other with a pergola from which you can see the whole space. A lovely copper willow tree water feature and bee and butterfly friendly planting add the sounds of water and nature to the garden.
