The brief for this situation was to design the front garden and driveway for two new build large family homes in Hampshire. The houses are contemporary in design and will have a shared entrance and driveway. The site itself had some trees under Tree Protection Orders (TPOs) which have to remain in situ and be incorporated into the design.
The final design has a contemporary feel to complement the houses and makes the most of the long driveway with light and airy tall planting using a limited range of trees and shrubs. A turnaround has been included to help the movement of cars between the two houses and also to help delineate between the two properties.
Hard landscaping for the drive and the beds themselves has been kept simple both for cost and aesthetic reasons. However, a feature will be the bespoke reflective wave panels which will be attached to the long view fence to reflect light back into the site and complement the airy planting and contemporary architecture.
