On Sunday 13th July, I opened my garden for the first time for Naomi House (www.naomihouse.org.uk) a fantastic charity that I am very proud to be a Trustee of, it provides respite and end of life care for children with life-limiting conditions.
After weeks of making sure that the garden was looking its best, dead-heading like a demon and putting Strulch everywhere to prevent the weeds and make sure that the beds looked great, I was still nervous about my first open garden. The weather forecast was not great with rain forecast for the afternoon.
However, the weather held, the sun even shone! People turned up at the gate, walked around the garden, asked lots of questions, drank Pimms and ate cake and in £400 was raised for a superb cause. And you know I might even be persuaded to do it again next year…….
